FAQ

Questions? Good, pilots ask questions.

You can start building knowledge anytime, but you’ll need a private pilot certificate and the required flight experience to earn the commercial certificate. Starting the ground work early means arriving at your commercial training with the foundation already built — saving you money in the airplane, where every hour counts.

Your commercial certificate has two sides: the knowledge (ground school, the FAA commercial written exam, and the oral portion of your checkride) and the flying itself (commercial maneuvers with an instructor in the airplane). We handle the first side and make sure it sticks.

You can earn a commercial certificate without an instrument rating, but it comes with a limitation: no carrying passengers for hire at night or on cross-country flights beyond 50 nautical miles. Most career-bound pilots earn the instrument rating first — and we have a course for that too.

Yes — and it’s free. Complete the course and you’ll receive the instructor endorsement the FAA requires before you can take the commercial knowledge test. No hunting for someone to sign you off.

Reach out through our contact page and we’ll get you into the next cohort. Seats in live sessions are limited so everyone gets airtime.
